The " Hong Kong Inter-school Civic Education Officer Competition " is Hong Kong's first competition focusing on civic education training, public speaking skills, and media literacy.
Attracting over 800 students from Primary 4 to Secondary 5 among more than 120 schools, the competition involved AI and professional assessments, as well as extensive training. Ultimately, 89 students successfully graduated and became Civic Education Commissioners. The event is a medium to long-term project aiming at enhancing social responsibility, civic consciousness, media literacy, and digital literacy of young people. The Commissioners were arranged to participate in 14 activities, including training by the Narcotics Bureau and the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force, recording news in a radio studio, and participating in civic and character education courses.
Lee Yat Wing, a student from 5B, participated in the training and selection, and finally won the Championship in the Senior Division with her outstanding performance. Heung To Middle School also received the "Outstanding School Award". At the award ceremony, Lee was interviewed by the media and shared her feelings about winning the award. Her articles and speeches have also conveyed positive energy to the public.
