Embracing Potential through International Competition and Performance Participating in the 2025 Hong Kong Preliminary rounds of the Vienna International Young Musicians and Dancers Competitions, our choir and dance troupe secured double championships. This early taste of victory instilled confidence and motivated students to push beyond perceived limits. In Vienna’s finals, our choir placed second among seventeen international ensembles—proof that each student’s dedication and innate talent could shine among the best in the world.

Street Performances: Cultivating Courage and Cultural Exchange Performing on Heroes’ Square in Vienna’s city centre challenged students to share their art with passersby, often in an unstructured, unpredictable environment. Encouraged to interact in basic German, they overcame shyness, discovered newfound stage presence, and learned to value spontaneous cross-cultural connection. Their positive reception highlighted how music transcends language barriers.
3. Nurturing Artistic Growth in Masterclasses Over three mornings, students studied under professional vocalists, dancers, and German language instructors. These intensive workshops opened students’ eyes to new techniques and interpretive insights, revealing potential they had not yet tapped. This pivotal event catalysed profound reflection on cultural roots and identity. Wearing school uniforms alongside national colours, students felt an intense pride: they were not just performers abroad but cultural ambassadors for China. Their refined rendition of patriotic and folk repertoire resonated deeply with embassy staff and guests, reinforcing a shared sense of heritage.

Self-Discovery and Cultural Identity Through every rehearsal, competition, and performance—including three piano-accompanied lobby concerts at our hotel—students confronted personal challenges: language barriers, performance anxiety, and homesickness.
