On the morning of September 6th, Heung To Middle School teachers and students, sponsored by the "Sham Shui Po Neighbourhood Cares Association" and the "Office of Councillor Alice Lau Pui Yuk," jointly watched the film Dead to Rights.
The film traces the lives of ordinary people, using ensemble storytelling to vividly portray the resilience of Nanjing’s citizens under oppressive invasion. From their struggle for survival to their awakening and resistance, the narrative captures a powerful journey of defiance. The suffering and perseverance etched into the passage of time allow this profound weight to history that resonates deeply with the audience.
After watching the film, the students were deeply moved. They not only gained an appreciation for the preciousness and hard-won nature of peace but also strengthened their belief in "Honor the Past, Empower Ourselves." Many expressed their commitment to cherish the present, forge ahead, and work hard for a better future.
