The hall was filled with warmth and excitement as 148 graduates, along with over 400 parents and distinguished guests, gathered to celebrate this milestone. The school was deeply honored to welcome Legislative Council Member Ms. Vivian Kong Man Wai, SBS, MH, and Mr. Lee Siu Hei, Chief School Development Officer (Sham Shui Po District) of the Education Bureau, as the Guests of Honour to grace the ceremony.
Nurturing Ambition and Excellence

- 47 students received Service Awards
In his address, Principal Wong Chung Leung highly praised the graduates for their academic dedication, enthusiastic service, and active participation in school and community life. He expressed his deepest gratitude to the teachers for their guidance and to the parents for their steadfast support. Principal Wong encouraged the graduates to hold high aspirations, cherish their youth, and continue to strive in their future studies and lives. He reminded them to remember their teachers' wisdom, contribute to society, and fulfill their dreams.
Words of Wisdom from a World Champion
Guest of Honour Miss Vivian Kong Man Wai delivered an incredibly moving and sincere speech, sharing her own journey of growth. She opened up about how she transformed from a self-doubting young girl into a "World No. 1" fencer by learning to believe in herself through the constant encouragement of her mentors. She also spoke about moving from a phase of "listening to her parents" to fulfill family expectations, to a place where she could wholeheartedly pursue her true passions.
Miss Kong urged the graduates to be deeply grateful for the dedication and love of their parents and teachers, reminding the students that in the hearts of their loved ones, each of them is a unique and brilliant "only one." Her speech felt like the warm, loving advice of an older sister, touching the hearts of everyone in attendance.
A Year of Remarkable Achievements
Principal Wong also summarized the school’s outstanding educational achievements over the past year. Our students maintained their competitive edge in the HKDSE, achieving brilliant results across the four core subjects:
- 100% Passing Rate: Chinese Language, English Language, and Citizenship and Social Development.
- 98% Passing Rate: Mathematics (far exceeding the Hong Kong territory-wide average).
- 77.7% University Eligibility Rate: With 110 students successfully admitted to local undergraduate degree programmes via JUPAS.
- Global Admissions: More than 20 graduates were accepted by elite Mainland and overseas institutions, including prestigious names like Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Fudan University.
True to our core goals of cultivating a "Chinese Soul, Hong Kong Affection, and Global Vision," the school actively expanded its "second classroom". The school organized 25 domestic and overseas study tours this year, spanning 17 provinces and municipalities in the Mainland, as well as Austria, Kazakhstan, South Korea, and France. Over 600 students participated in the organized study tours. In extracurricular fields, our students clinched over 200 external awards, with more than 2,000 student-times achieving excellent results.
Passing the Torch of the Heung To Spirit
A highly symbolic moment of the evening was the "Passing the Torch" (薪火相傳) ceremony. The graduates passed on the school icon—symbolizing the Heung To spirit of "holding the pen firmly in hand" (緊握手中筆)—to their Secondary 5 students. This tradition represents the hope that the younger generation will inherit the school's fine heritage, love their nation and ethnic roots, care for Hong Kong society, master advanced technology and culture, and grow into patriotic youths filled with a sense of responsibility and mission.
An Emotional and Touching Farewell
The ceremony was filled with moments of deep emotion. Alongside spectacular cultural performances by the graduates, a heartwarming video was shown featuring the final, affectionate blessings from the four graduating class teachers.
Graduate representatives Li Yui Hin and Lee Sze Lok delivered a touching valedictory address to express their gratitude to their alma mater. The graduates then presented a parting gift to the school and offered bouquets to the stage guests and their parents. This display of profound gratitude brought tears of joy to the eyes of many parents, teachers, and students alike.
Coinciding with the 80th Anniversary of Heung To Middle School, this graduation ceremony carried an extra layer of historic significance. The unforgettable event concluded beautifully as the entire hall stood together to sing the school song, "The Song of Heung To," amidst a chorus of blessings, applause, and heartfelt thanks.
